Listen as Eric’s mother talks about the response accommodation he receives (time: 1:01).

His handwriting has to be accommodated for in the classroom. He had, at one point, a writing tablet, now he has a computer so he can do any kind of assignments that requires writing so he doesn’t have to struggle with his hand writing. He can also do more elaborate things like computer programs that can aide in trying to do more complicated thinking to try to get at abstraction. So there’s a program called Inspiron [sic; “Inspiration”] that can try to do some of the comprehension things that come naturally to other children, that does thought bubbles and things that you couldn’t do just on a writing tablet.

It’s really terrific when things are working. I appreciate all of the efforts that people make, and I’m just astonished and amazed at all of the things that can be done and that my son can be in a normal classroom and learning with everybody else, and that it can be a good experience for everybody.
