New Online IRIS Resources Available!

Dear IRIS Family,

We are pleased to introduce you to a pair of new online resources: Video Vignettes and Sample Wraparound Content Maps.

Now available through the IRIS Resource Locator (https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/iris-resource-locator/), Video Vignettes—videos compiled from a wide variety of sources—are about individuals with disabilities, their families, advocates, teachers, and service providers. Some focus on the history of disabilities, while others demonstrate the implementation of evidence-based practices in educational settings. We believe that college faculty, PD providers, and independent learners alike will find something in this collection to enhance their instruction. In the months ahead, be sure to watch for more announcements and more videos.

To search our collection of Video Vignettes using the IRIS Resource Locator, select a Topic (e.g., “Assessment” or “Behavior and Classroom Management”) and search the results for an available vignette. Alternatively, you can select “Video Vignettes” under Resource Types in the left-hand option bar and then scan through the entire collection.

Our second new resource—Sample Wraparound Content Maps—are diagrams designed to help college faculty and PD providers, as well as independent learners, to extend and deepen the information included in our modules and case study units through the use of supporting materials available on the IRIS website. By using these wraparound content maps, instructors can more easily accomplish the task of broadening their own instruction, and hence their students’ learning experiences. Find the sample maps in the Implementation section of the IRIS website under “For Faculty” and “For PD Providers.”

As always, we encourage you to share all of our materials (https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/) with your colleagues and students. If you have any questions concerning IRIS materials, please contact Kim Skow at 800-831-6134, [email protected], or [email protected].

Sincerely,
