Activity: Mr. Carter’s Adventures with SRSD

I’ve evaluated my students and I’ve determined that they have the skills they need to solve word problems.
You can use the strategy to identify words when you try to solve word problems.
I’m going to show you how I work through the strategy steps. First, I read the problem. Then I say to myself, “Do I understand what I just read?”
Let’s practice saying the strategy again and again. You should know what all of the strategy steps mean without any trouble.
Okay, you’re having trouble with the strategy. Let me show you how to use it and make sure you understand it completely.
Strategies can help you analyze a problem and develop a plan to solve the problem.
