Week 2: Selecting and Using IRIS Modules for Your Course

Welcome to the second week of our IRIS Workshop! We’ve enjoyed learning about you, your goals for this workshop, and your experience with IRIS prior to this workshop. We’re hoping that after completing the first week, you now have a general understanding of the IRIS Center, know how to navigate the IRIS website and IRIS Resource Locator (IRL), and have identified several goals and objectives for your future course(s).

Assignment:

  • Work through the following sections of the IRIS Module: Online Course Design for College and University Faculty
  • Perspectives & Resources pages 3 and 5
  • Using the module’s course planning template, the syllabus for your future course, and the IRIS Resource Locator (IRL):
    • Identify possible IRIS Modules for course content related to course objectives
    • Add them to the Synchronous or Asynchronous portions of your template
